Will You Survive?

Waxing pensive, was I this night. Our economy is perhaps more in shambles than the populous is aware. The media moguls might not actually be cognizant that they are setting us up for a fall via painting a rosy picture, but then again...

I tend to look. I tend to read between the lines. What I'm seeing ain't looking pretty. Why, for instance, do we have UN Peace Keepers stationed at numerous locales around OUR country? Why are the left-wing hordes gaining so much ground here? Why is everything accelerating at such a breakneck speed?

A certain social scientist, by the name of Kurzweil, in his 1999 book, "The Law of Accelerating Returns", describes how everything is marching forward at a maddening speed. In 2001, in an essay of the same name he took it further still.  Kurzweil wrote a Wikipedia article, found here,

"which argued for extending Moore's Law to describe exponential growth of diverse forms of technological progress. Whenever a technology approaches some kind of a barrier, according to Kurzweil, a new technology will be invented to allow us to cross that barrier. He cites numerous past examples of this to substantiate his assertions. He predicts that such paradigm shifts have and will continue to become increasingly common, leading to "technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history." He believes the Law of Accelerating Returns implies that a technological singularity will occur before the end of the 21st century, around 2045. The essay begins:
An analysis of the history of technology shows that technological change is exponential, contrary to the common-sense 'intuitive linear' view. So we won't experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century—it will be more like 20,000 years of progress (at today's rate). The 'returns,' such as chip speed and cost-effectiveness, also increase exponentially. There's even exponential growth in the rate of exponential growth. Within a few decades, machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence, leading to the Singularity—technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. The implications include the merger of biological and nonbiological intelligence, immortal software-based humans, and ultra-high levels of intelligence that expand outward in the universe at the speed of light."

Describing the situation on a graph, he found that it is going almost straight up now. The same graph results apply to multitudes of different topics, from the production of food to the global population, from the advance of high tech surveillance to medicine, from futuristic weaponry to solar electric technology. Even the means for one person to inflict damage on a vast scale is progressing at breakneck speed as well. Everything imaginable is progressing like this. The intervals between major technological leaps is halving every couple of years.

The author of that book has concluded that the end result is complete and total destruction of our civilization, and we're talking globally.  At this point, the whole thing makes me think of the Schwarzenegger film series, Terminator, or the Biblical Armageddon.  I like the potential outcome of the Biblical narrative much better...

If the Bible is correct about all this, and I DO believe it is, then there is a "master" plan and a "master" planner behind it.  Notice that I didn't capitalize the M's in that sentence.  That would indicate that this "master" planner is less than the actual Master - God, who has the actual Master Plan already worked out.

So, my friends, it is going to get very ugly in the next several years, if this is the last of the last.  Are you ready, in your heart of hearts?  Are you right with Jesus of Nazareth?  Have you obtained forgiveness for your sins, asked Jesus to save you from hell, and accepted him as your Lord and Savior?  If not, stop right now and do it.  I'll wait...

The title of this post is "Will You Survive?"  The answer is, some of us will make it through the worst period in the entire history of the world, and some of us won't.  .  Only a very small contingent of believers will physically survive. A somewhat larger number of non-believers will be alive then, despite their great longing for death, Hasenstab will keep them alive to "enjoy" their lives to the fullest during that period.  Then ALL. will be raised from the dead and face the judgement of God.  You want to be on God's side when that happens!

Ciao,

Panchito

P.S.  If you are interested in getting your heart ready, avoiding eternal unpleasantness, leave me a comment to that end, and perhaps I can steer you in the right direction.  If you just want to argue against these thoughts, don't bother.  I've got bigger fish to fry.  You've got more important things to waste your time on as well.  Let's leave it at that.
